Meet Katherine, an Iowa native with an unyielding passion for birth and babies that has shaped her life's journey. Entranced by the miracle of pregnancy and childbirth, Katherine took her first steps into the world of birth work in 2015, finding her true calling as a labor doula, offering steadfast support to expectant mothers as they navigate the incredible journey of bringing new life into the world.

Expanding her focus on wellness, Katherine became a licensed massage therapist in 2019, specializing in prenatal, postpartum, and infant massage. Her clients report that her nurturing touch goes beyond mere physical relief, fostering deep connections between mothers and their babies even before birth.

Beyond her doula and massage skills, Katherine offers postpartum doula support, placenta encapsulation, home birth assistance, and compassionate bereavement doula care through Stillbirthday, also a heartfelt tribute to her own late son, James.

Expanding her services, Katherine pursued a midwifery certification in 2021 before founding Christian Birthworkers of Central Iowa in 2022, a vibrant community committed to providing comprehensive, holistic care for families throughout the perinatal journey.

Drawing from extensive personal experience, Katherine intimately understands both highs and lows of the perinatal journey as she guides and empowers her clients on their transformative path of parenthood. Katherine is a strong advocate for maternity and infant massage in fostering so much more than physical well-being and healthy parent-child bonding.

Katherine treasures the vital role that prenatal massage played in her own pregnancies, which served her as sacred rituals of self-care, bringing physical solace and a deepening emotional connection with her growing babies. She emphasizes the importance to disconnect from the chaos of daily life to nurture the precious bond between parent and child.

Beyond her work as doula, midwife, massage therapist & instructor, Katherine happens to be a seasoned piano instructor. Her dreams of owning a homestead, reflect her deep connection to nature, while her love for dancing, culinary creativity, and cherished moments with family and friends add another special joy to her life.
