No prior experience in bodywork is required.

Minimum age: 18 years or older
A comprehensive introduction to physiology covers crucial knowledge of the body’s systems and their functions, especially in relationship to the practice of massage. While this course is less hands-on, we use a variety of teaching tools to assure that the material is palatable for every learning style. In fact, some of our students have claimed this course to have been a favorite. Students are to gain a deep understanding of the structure and health of the human body.
Prerequisites: None
Course Objectives: At the completion of the course, students will know and be able to:
• Describe the structure and function of the human body
• Recognize the anatomical terminology for all major body systems
• List the functions of all major body systems
• Identify the organs and their functions
• Discuss the physical and emotional effects of massage and touch
• Discuss a research article on massage
